Fubara Receives PDP BoT Members In Rivers, Vows To Resolve Crisis
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday re-affirmed his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), putting to rest months of speculations that he had left the party.
The governor was rumoured to be the strength behind the sudden popularity of the Action People’s Party (APP) whose secretariat was struck by an explosive a week ago.
But, addressing the leadership and members of the PDP Board of Trustees who visited him at the government house in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara said he doubted his membership in the PDP. However, the visit by the BoT has offered some conviction that he is still recognised as a member.
“But, so far, what is important this afternoon is that we are still members of the party, and the owners of the party have visited us.
“So, for those people outside who are carrying all sorts of rumour and propaganda, at least, this visit will put those propaganda to rest, and to tell the world that we are and we still remain members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” he said.
The delegation which included the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara; former Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi; elder stateman, Olabode George and Senator Abdul Ningi said they were in Rivers State searching for peace.
The Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara said the party is scared of losing Rivers State.
