FUBARA’S KINSMEN URGE PRESIDENT TINUBU TO RECONSIDER STATE EMERGENCY IN RIVERS STATE
Relatives and members of the Opobo community, the hometown of the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara have joined the call on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the state of emergency declared in the state.
Speaking at a press briefing in Opobo, Fubara’s kinsmen emphasized that their son is a man of high reputation, peace and integrity saying that that the President’s decision may have been influenced by misleading information.
And at a town hall in Opobo town, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, community leaders condemned the suspension of their son saying the action is uncalled for.
They also condemn the recurring allegations of ingratitude, corruption and militancy being levelled against Fubara just to blackmail and give him a bad name.
Beyond his relatives and immediate community, the suspended governor is also receiving solidarity from the Etche ethnic nationality, the same region where the former Head of Service, George Nwaeke—who recently made serious allegations against him hails from.
The people called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the former Head of Service.
As more voices advocate for fairness and due process, there is hope that dialogue and reconciliation will pave the way for lasting peace and progress in Rivers state which has been engrossed in political crisis in the last 17 months.
