With few days to the commencement of the planned nationwide protest, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has held a meeting with heads of security agencies and traditional rulers.

The meeting is to enhance security in major areas of Kaduna and sensitise the people of the state against taking part in the August 1st nationwide protest.

Sani who chaired the meeting held at the council chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, described the organisers of the protest as faceless and disgruntled elements who want to advance their political agenda and unleash violence against the people to loot the businesses of the innocent citizens.

He vowed that the Kaduna State Government and the people would not support any form of protest whose objective is to incite crisis and inflict harm on the people.

According to the governor, the planned nationwide protest is needless and not in the interest of Kaduna State and the country in general.

Sani therefore advised the community leaders to sensitise their people on the dangers of participating in a protest that has the potential of destabilising the country, assuring them of the commitment of the government to address the present socio-economic challenges confronting the nation.
