The Six People Kidnapped in Tunga Maje, a community in the Zuba area of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory!! regained… their freedom on Monday night, five days after gunmen took them away from their homes.
Initial reports indicated that 12 persons were taken away by the gunmen.
Speaking to SignatureTv on Tuesday, the Traditional Ruler of Tunga Maje Mal. Salihu Na’annabi Isiyaku said that the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of 20 million naira. In the end, the kidnappers accepted three million Naira

The negotiation between the community and the kidnappers was conducted by members of the local vigilante group. The policemen were reported to have earlier declined to accompany members of the vigilante across the river to confront the kidnappers who were heavily armed.

Members of the community told Signaturetv that the government has done little to protect them and the kidnappers whom they identified as Fulani raiders were having a field day and making life unbearable for them

Before the kidnap last Thursday there was the information in the public space that operatives of Boko Haram have infiltrated some locations in Abuja
However, members of the Tunga Maje community say they are certain the kidnap of six members of their community was not done by Boko Haram members but by Fulani armed herdsmen.
