GOVERNOR FUBARA ACCUSES POLITICAL ADVERSARIES FOR TARGETING SUPPORTERS TO REDUCE HIS INFLUENCE
The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalaye Fubara says the arrest and detention of some traditional rulers and community leaders of Orachi region is because of their support for his administration
The Governor made the assertion during the inauguration of the remodelled Government Girls’ Secondary School in Ahoada Town of Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor, alleged that some of the traditional rulers, Eze Ekpeye Logbo, Eze Kelvin Anugwo; and Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi were harassed and arrested while his Chief of Staff, Dr Edison Ehie, was declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force on trumped up charges.
He said that because of the support that those individuals have publicly displayed, they are being hounded in order to reduce his influence in the state.
Fubara expressed appreciation to the Ekpeye people for their unalloyed support for his Government in the face of harassment and intimidation.
On internal roads, Governor Fubara said the contract for the internal roads will be revoked from those he termed as enemies of the state and re-awarded to another competent contractor who will deliver the project in line with the mantra of the administration.
The State Commissioner for Education, Dr Ovy Chukwuma, said there are three distinct buildings handled separately by three contractors in the school making a total of 24 classrooms; common rooms; science laboratories fitted with computers for chemistry, physics, agriculture and biology.
Dr Chukwuma also listed an administrative block, staff common rooms and conveniences, generator house with two 40KVA sound proof generators, gatehouse, roads and landscaping, perimeter fencing, overhead water tank for supply, as facilities within the school.
