Governor Umar Namadi has signed Jigawa State’s 2025 budget into law, marking a historic milestone with a record-breaking value of N698.3 billion – the highest in the state’s history.
The signing ceremony, held at the Council Chambers of the Government House in Dutse on Tuesday, was attended by government officials, lawmakers, and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, Governor Namadi described the budget as transformative and essential for the state’s long-term development.
“This year’s budget of N698.3 billion naira is the highest in the history of Jigawa State. It is designed to restructure the state into a greater one,” he stated.
A substantial 76% of the budget has been allocated to capital projects, underscoring the administration’s emphasis on infrastructure and development. Governor Namadi highlighted that these investments will lay the groundwork for sustainable economic growth and improve living standards across the state.
“Our focus is on building the foundations for lasting progress. This budget reflects our vision for a better, more prosperous Jigawa,” the governor added.
Governor Namadi expressed appreciation to the Jigawa State House of Assembly for their swift approval of the budget.
“I commend the House of Assembly for their dedication and commitment to the progress of our state. Their cooperation and timely passage of this budget are crucial to ensuring we hit the ground running,” he said.

The governor called on all stakeholders to work together towards full implementation, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability.
“This budget is a collective effort, and I urge all involved to ensure that every project and program reaches the people who need it the most,” he noted.
Governor Namadi concluded his address by reaffirming his administration’s pledge to improve the lives of Jigawa’s citizens.
“We are committed to building a better future for Jigawa. This budget is a step in that direction, and I believe it will create opportunities for our people,” he stated.
The 2025 budget, which prioritizes sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, has been widely praised as a forward-looking plan to drive economic growth and social development.
