Group Honours Sokoto Governor In Recognition Of Steps On Education

A non governmental organisation, Nigeria First Integrity Group, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum on honour Sokoto state governor Ahmed Aliyu for his outstanding, transformative and Leadership towards education in Sokoto State. 

The group on Tuesday at Nicon Luxury hotel, Abuja says the award was given to the governor for his leadership qualities, achievement in governance and unwavering commitment to education in the state. 

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto has allocated twenty-five percent of state budget to education to reduce the out of school children in the state and give every child the opportunity to go to school irrespective of his status as a way of bringing development to the state. 

The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government, Ibrahim Adairi, reassured that his administration would continue to deliver on electioneering promises made during campaigns to the citizens.

In her remarks, Director-General, Nigeria First integrity group, Maryam Yunusa Danjaki said the group finds the governor worthy of his leadership qualities and tenacities which set him apart from his peers.

“There are other areas of development where he has made an impact, and these include human capacity, infrastructural, and agricultural developments.

“His life is a testimony of integrity and humility. Comparing his achievements with the state’s past governors shows how well he has done for the people of the state”. she said.

With the steps taken by the Sokoto state government making education as priority there’s hope that most out-of-school children in the state will returned to school.
