Gunmen Kill Former Ngbo East Development Center Coordinator In Ebonyi

Gunmen yesterday shot dead, Hon Sunday Idenyi, a former coordinator of Ngbo East Development Center in Ohankwu Local Government Area of the state.

He was appointed coordinator of the centre in 2015-2019.

It was gathered that the late Idenyi was killed on Monday night in his country home at Amoffia Ngbo. It was gathered that he was shot seven times by the gang who stormed his resident with sophisticated weapons.

Moreso, it was learnt that the deceased lost his younger brother along Ezzamgbo-Effium road last year in the same manner.

Before, his murder on Monday, it was gathered that Idenyi was among the candidates to succeed the traditional throne of the Amoffia Ngbo community and he was engaged in mining.

When contacted, the phone number of the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah was not reachable.

But the Security Consultant to the State government, Mr Emeagha Okoro told our correspondent that the confirmation of the incident is under the duty of the police.

“Just exercise patience by calling back the state police public relations officer, becuase she is the one that is supposed to confirm it,” he said.
