Health authorities in Enugu arrest Covid-19 suspected patient, seal off building
Health authorities and security agencies in Enugu State have forcefully taken away a suspected Covid-19 patient at No 56, Nike Rd, Abakpa Nike and sealed off the compound.
Assisted by officials of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, agents swooped at the building following a tip off that a woman tenant who had recently returned to Enugu from Kano was exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus.
The lady an indegene of one of the Northern States had gone to a health facility in Enugu from where he was referred to Parklane Teaching Hospital.

According to an official of NCDC who was among those mounting guard at the building, they received information that an individual with symptoms of Covid-19 was hiding in the building.
He said the suspected patient had been taking away for further investigation while the building had been cordoned off.
The official who requested to remain anonymous told signaturetv.org that they had orders from above not to let anyone out of the building pending the testing of all residents to know their status. Je said efforts were on to identify all those who might have had contact with the said individual.
A tenant in the building who spoke to signaturetv.org on telephone said “That’s what we saw this morning. They brought an ambulance and took the Hausa woman away. They won’t let anyone in or out of the compound. We are in trouble”.
One of the eyewitnesses who said his name was Ejike said he was was really worried.
“A lot of my friends won’t wear face masks or even practice social distancing, claiming the virus is not in Enugu. Just in two days we have two cases in Enugu. As long as their is free movement in this town, we are all at risk.
Only yesterday a new Coronavirus case was confirmed in Enugu. According to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Ikechukwu Obi the patient returned to Enugu from Kano
