Senator Hope Uzodinma has been sworn in as the Governor of Imo State.

His swearing in was sequel to the Supreme Court judgement declaring Uzodinma winner of the last gubernatorial election in Imo State on March 9, 2019.

Speaking in Owerri  after taking the oath of office, Senator Hope Uzodinma, gave four days to permanent secretaries and heads of parastatals to submit award of contracts made so far in the state.
The Governor was sworn in alongside his running mate, Placid Njoku, by the Chief Judge of Imo state, Paschal Nnadi.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomole, and the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuba, were on hand to celebrate with Uzodinma and peopleof Imo State.
The swearing in happened in such a way that unity played out between the warring factions of Imo APC in the state, as they were seen working tirelessly to ensure that Uzodinma’s swearing in was a success.

The Independent National Electoral Commission earlier on Wednesday issued a certificate of return to Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress(APC) as the governor-elect of Imo State.

Mr Uzodinma received the certificate in Abuja barely 24 hours after a Supreme Court judgement nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) as governor.

Speaking immediately after he received the Certificate of Return from the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, the new executive governor of Imo state, said that the Supreme Court’s judgment is justice for the Imo People.

His words, “We owe this victory to the almighty God, we owe it to the functional judiciary, the Supreme Court used the eagle eyes of the law and gave us justice, and there is so much excitement down there in Imo state.
