Ibas Applauds Rsiec For Peaceful Conduct Of LG Polls, As Pathways To Full Democracy

Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of Saturday’s local government elections, calling it a major step toward restoring grassroots democracy.

Ibas, who toured several LGAs including Emohua, Ahoada East, and Port Harcourt City, commended voters and officials for maintaining a calm and secure atmosphere during the polls.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, he highlighted the strong turnout and smooth conduct as signs of the people’s commitment to reclaiming local governance.

Reports from all 23 LGAs, he noted, confirmed a credible and largely incident-free process.

Ibas emphasized that the successful election aligns with his mandate to stabilize the state and restore democratic leadership.
