INEC fixes August 31 for bye-election in Enugu
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed the 31st of August for a bye-election to replace the member of the Enugu State House of Assemby, Chijioke Uqwueze, from Isi-Uzo State Constituency who died earlier this year.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Enugu, Dr Emeka Ononamadu, said this in Enugu on Wednesday.
“For now, we are preparing for the bye-election to replace the state lawmaker from Isi-Uzo state constituency.
“More details on the preparation will be communicated very soon,’’ he said.
Family source said that Ugwueze died of heart failure on June 19 at the age of 49 years.
