ISBON TASKS GOVERNMENTS ON POVERTY ERADICATION

The National Chairman Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria ISBON Alhaji Musa Abdul has urged governments in Nigeria to do more to empower the citizens as a means of eradicating poverty in the country instead of using empowerment as a political tool during elections.

The chairman made this remark at the Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria ISBON Women’s Wing Annual Eid, Children Celebration & Empowerment Programme in Abuja.

In his remarks the chairman of the occasion Alhaji Abdul Raheem Bolanle soliu said the program could not have come at a better time especially when Nigeria is rated as the poverty capital of the world. He urged ISBON to be a united family.

HAJIA AMINAT BELLO, NATIONAL AMIRAH ISBON explained that the program was an annual event set up for the purpose of helping and supporting ISBON members as an organization and to celebrate Ramadan. Those present at the event advised other organizations to emulate ISBON.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the assistance extended to them.

Highlights of the event included question and answer session for the children and distribution of items which included deep freezers, printer and a4 paper, grinding machines, and cash awards.
