Iwobi Reveals Best Advice He Received From Jay-Jay Okocha

Fulham attacking midfielder, Alex Iwobi has shared the most impactful advice he ever received came from Nigerian football icon Jay-Jay Okocha, who also happens to be his uncle.

According to the 29-year-old, Okocha advised him to play against the opponent on the pitch of play with freedom and without fear throughout his professional career.

Iwobi, a former Arsenal player, stated this while speaking in a recent interview on The High Performance Podcast.

“He [Okocha] said to me, express yourself. Don’t be afraid to express yourself.

“I got it from my uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha. He said it to me once, and I literally just watched how he lived his life.

“I feel lucky he is my uncle. I used to see him both off the pitch as well as on the pitch.”
