Julia- Gee cornerstone Schools in Enugu has won the best private school award of Southeast Entertainment Award.

The event which was organized by the Southeast entertainment award in conjunction with the Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism took place on Thursday, 20th of October 2022, at the school premises in Enugu.

The event had the presence of some government officials including the Commissioner of Culture and Tourism Hon. Ogbonna Ibe, who was ably represented, the executive officer of Southeast Entertainment Award, Prince Kelvin Uka Obasi, Ben Chukwuemeka of Southeast Entertainment Award, some directors in the ministry, and the staff of the School.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of South-East Entertainment Awards, Prince Obinna Kelvin Uka-Obasi said the choice of Julia-Gee Cornerstone Schools came after a critical and painstaking evaluation of results and activities of the school over the years by a team of seasoned educationists and professionals.

According to Uka-Obasi, the award came in different categories based on performance in external exams, learning environment, infrastructure, and staffing among others. Julia-Gee Cornerstone came top in the private Schools category.

Receiving the award on behalf of the management and staff, the proprietor of the school, Princess Juliana Nkiru Nnaji thanked the organizers of the award for the honour and recognition. She expressed delight that the school is making an impact in the overall development of education and capacity building in the nation and pledged the commitment of the school to excellence in all they do, adding that the award will spur them to greater heights.

Some of the pupils, Shalom Chuwuma, Wisdom Obadu and Nnenna Ugwu could not hide their joy while expressing gratitude to God for making them part of the great history and their parents for sending them to Julia-Gee Cornerstone Schools.

Julia-Gee Cornerstone Schools at its inception in August 1996 had fifty pupils but has made remarkable progress with over a thousand population including a secondary school section.
