Kano Emirate: Tight Security at Kano High Court as Hearing on Emirate Tussle Begins
Amidst heightened tension and tight security, the Federal High Court in Kano is bracing for the start of a highly anticipated hearing on the emirate tussle. Heavily armed policemen and operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have strategically positioned their vehicles around the court complex on Court Road, creating a formidable security presence that has led to the diversion of traffic to nearby roads leading to Zoo Road and Gyadi-Gyadi area.
The nationwide strike over minimum wage embarked had affected the sitting of the Federal High Court in Kano on the restraining order on the reinstatement of Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II as Emir.
Similarly, a Federal High Court in Kano had issued an order stopping the Kano State Government from enforcing the Kano State Emirate Council Repeal Law.
Justice Mohammed Liman granted the order in an application by Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate.
