Kebbi Gov Waives Optic Fibre Deployment Fees To Boost Telecoms Infrastructure

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has signed an executive order waiving all statutory fees for the deployment of optic fibre cables across the state.

This move applies to all telecommunications companies operating in Nigeria.

The announcement was made by the Director General of the Kebbi State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), Dr. Kabiru Muhammad Kamba, during a visit to the General Manager of Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.

The visit aimed to foster partnerships with the aviation sector.

Dr. Kamba emphasised that telecommunications companies such as MTN, Airtel, and Glo can now deploy optic fibre cables across Kebbi State’s 21 local government areas without incurring fees, a decision expected to enhance connectivity and investment opportunities
