Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN) says a functional aviation system in Nigeria will help push demand for the Naira in Africa.
Keyamo says airline maintenance, repair and overhaul, among others, are issues affecting Nigeria’s aviation industry.
He identified some illegal practices within the sector that has continued to shortchange the government.
According to him, the Federal Government will come hard on airline operators who obtain licenses to operate private flights but rather engage in commercial flights.
Describing such act as economic sabotage, he says the Presidency might take action such as grounding all their planes and as well withdrawing their licenses. We’re not going to allow that to happen.
