Kogi election: S’Court fixes August 31 for judgment in Wada’s appeal
The last may not have been heard about the Kogi State gubernatorial election held on the 18th of November last year.
This is because the Supreme Court on Tuesday fixed August 31st for judgment in the appeal filed by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Musa Wada challenging the victory of Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi state.
The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division had on the 4th of July 2020, affirmed the victory of Yahaya Bello in the governorship election.
In a unanimous judgment, the five-member panel led by Justice Adamu Jauro had dismissed Wada’s appeal for “lacking in merit.”
The election was touted to have been marred by violence, but the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared the incumbent governor winner in the election.
