There was pandemonium at the Lagos APC stakeholders’ meeting on Wednesday when the Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Kolade Alabi, slumped.

However, he was immediately revived and evacuated out of the venue to the hospital.

Alabi, who is also the chairman of Conference 57 representing the chairmen of 20 local governments (LGs) and 37 local council development areas (LCDA), slumped after addressing the gathering.

The event took place at the party’s Secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja, Lagos.

However, the cause of Alabi’s sudden collapse has not yet been disclosed.

The stakeholders’ meeting had in attendance Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamza; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; among others.

Following the incident, the event was abruptly brought to an end.

Sources said the council chairman who was also one-time National President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), has fully recuperated in the hospital.

“He slumped due to the heat at the venue but thank God he was immediately revived. The incident was not due to any violence as you can see the stakeholders’ meeting was very peaceful. It could happen to anybody. There is nothing untoward about what happened,” a party source said.
