Liverpool continued their charge for a first league title in 30 years by beating rivals Manchester United.

Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring at Anfield when he headed in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s early corner.

A Roberto Firmino strike was ruled out by VAR for a foul on David de Gea, who also made a couple of superb saves to prevent the Reds scoring more.

The hosts withstood some late pressure before Mohamed Salah made the win safe when he raced through to score.

The win means Liverpool have 64 points from 22 games and they are 16 points clear of second-place Manchester City with a game in hand.
