MEXICO DISPATCHES FIREFIGHTING EXPERTS TO HELP WITH CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES
Mexican Air Force planes departed for California on Saturday, carrying 74 personnel from the Army and the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR) to assist in battling the wildfires ravaging Southern California.
The mission, a humanitarian aid effort, includes specialized firefighting and civil protection personnel.
Laura Vazquez Alzua, head of the National Civil Protection Coordination, emphasized their commitment to supporting California.
The Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles announced continued consular assistance and shelters for affected individuals, regardless of immigration status, Mexican nationals or descendants in California accounts for nearly 30% of the state’s population.
