Muslim worshipers in Lebanon and Egypt attended Eid al-Adha prayers on Sunday.

In Lebanon, people performed the morning prayers outside and inside Al-Amin mosque in central Beirut.

After the prayers, some youth carried donation boxes to raise money to support Palestinians in Gaza in a campaign organized by Hamas.

In Egypt, crowds gathered around Amr Ibn Al-As mosque in Cairo with some people carrying balloons to spread joy during Eid.

Eid al-Adha, one of Islam’s two main festivals, marks the climax of the annual haj pilgrimage, when Muslims slaughter animals to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim, or Abraham, to sacrifice his son on God’s command often distributing meat to the poor.
