National Orientation Agency harps on Corruption Free Election as Corruption Tori Marks World Anti-Corruption Day
The Director-General, of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Garba Abari, has urged Nigerians to imbibe national core values which centre on patriotism, social justice, and religious tolerance, as well as those positive values that are enshrined in the constitution to make them better citizens and promote unity in the country.
Speaking at Corruption Tori, Anti-Corruption Ordinary Nigerians Icons Awards in Abuja, the Director General who was represented by a director in the agency, Kenneth Onyejepu lauded MacArthur Foundation, Corruption Tori and Signature TV, for the initiative of taking the fight against corruption to the grassroots and to school children.
The Director General said as the nation prepares for the 2023 elections, there was the need for patriotism to ensure that the right people were voted into office.
He added that the agency has been in the forefront of fighting corruption in Nigeria, stating that it was in collaboration with ICPC, EFCC and other anti-graft agencies at different levels.
He stated that in line with the NOA’s anti-corruption fight, the agency has programmes such as the War Against Indiscipline Brigade to tackle the menace of corruption in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of Signature Communications Limited, producers of Corruption Tori, Vinmartin Obiora Ilo, had told guests at the town hall that the organization took the fight against corruption to the grassroots in order to create a necessary awareness that can help win the war on corruption.
The corruption tori anti-corruption ordinary Nigerians Icons award was part of activities planned by Signature communications to mark the 2022 international anti-corruption day.
