Ngige Breathes Air Of Freedom, Gets Bail

Former governor of Anambra State and minister of Labour under the Buhari administration Dr. Chris Ngige has been granted bail by the FCT high court over allegations of contract fraud brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Justice Mariam Hassan ruled on Thursday that Dr. Ngige should enjoy the same bail conditions as was granted in his administrative bail.

The former labour minister was dragged before justice Miriam Hassan by the EFCC on allegations that he awarded contracts to his cronies.

He was remanded in the Kuje correctional centre for his application for bail to be argued the following Monday.

Justice Mariam Hassan could not come to a decision after both counsel to Ngige had presented their positions on the bail application.

This Thursday Dr. Ngige breathed air of freedom after justice Miriam granted him bail after speaking seven days in the Kuje correctional centre.
The case comes up on January 28th 2026.
