Nigeria-UK defence partnership dialogue opens in London

Nigeria and the UK began their first-ever Security and Defence Partnership Dialogue in London this week.

It is holding at Locarno Rooms, King Charles Street, FCDO, London.

According to a statement by the Press and Public Affairs Officer, British High Commission, Miss Ndidiamaka Eze, the dialogue was led by the U.K. National Security Adviser, Sir Stephen Lovegrove and his Nigerian counterpart, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno.

It is scheduled to last for three days.

The dialogue, which will end on 2 Feb. includes a series of breakout sessions covering counter terrorism, serious and organised crime, civilian policing and human rights.

Nigeria-UK Security and Defence Partnership was agreed between the two countries in 2018.

This week’s dialogue will be the first meeting following the 2018 agreement.
