NiMet Predicts Rain, Thunderstorms In FCT, Anambra, Others On Wednesday
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted rain and thunderstorms in some parts of the country beginning on Wednesday (today).
NiMet said this in its latest weather advisory published on Wednesday.
It said in the northern region, thunderstorms with moderate rains were expected over parts of Kaduna State in the morning.
The agency said, “Afternoon/Evening: Thunderstorms with moderate rains are anticipated across parts of Bauchi, Gombe, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Adamawa, Taraba, and Borno States”.
“In the central region, there will be light rains over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Southern Niger, and Kwara States in the morning.
“Afternoon/Evening: Light rains are likely over parts of Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Plateau, Niger, and the Federal Capital Territory,” NiMet added.
According to NiMet, the southern region should expect light rains in the morning in parts of Enugu, Anambra, Imo, and Akwa Ibom States.
In the afternoon/evening, it said, rains were expected to persist across the entire southern region.
It, therefore, asked Nigerians to take necessary precautions against strong winds, lightning, and localised flooding during thunderstorms.
