Normalcy returns to Kano prison after inmates’ riot
Inmates in Kano Correctional Centre on Thursday protested over the alleged poor quality of food among others.
A situation that caused uproar in the prison yard but was later brought under control by prison warders and security operatives
The Public Relations Officer, DSC Musbahu Kofar on Friday said normalcy has been restored to the Kurmawa Custodial facility as the inmates were confined and security tightened at the facility.
According to him, the command has set up a committee to unravel the cause of the riot as well as examine the alleged influx of illicit substances into the facility.
