The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a N5 million fine on Rangers International FC for multiple violations during their Match Day 35 fixture against Enyimba International FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday, June 9.
In a letter dated June 10, issued by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, the league detailed several breaches of its rules by Rangers during the contentious match.
On Sunday, a dramatic incident unfolded in Enugu during the highly-anticipated game between Enugu Rangers and reigning champions Enyimba. The match was abandoned late into stoppage time due to a pitch invasion by fans.

With the score still goalless in added time, center referee John Ojeleye awarded a penalty to the home team, prompting the visiting fans to storm the pitch in protest, resulting in the abandonment of the game.
