The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has denied the report making round that it said over 70 per cent of medical drugs being dispensed in Nigeria are substandard.

The Agency on Monday in a statement said the Executive Director of the Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, never made such statement anywhere in his engagements.

The statement which was signed by the Head Public Relations, Mohammad Ohitoto, attributed the report making rounds as misinterpretation of facts and fake news.

He further stated that drug administration and monitoring is outside the Agency’s mandate and as such, it would be incorrect to assert that 7 out of every 10 drugs in Nigeria is substandard.
