NSCDC Parades Electricity Cable Vandals, Other Criminal Suspects In Zamfara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command has arrested and paraded 18 suspects with various degrees of crimes.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Ikor Oche while parading the suspects on Sunday said that in line with the commitment of the Corps to rid off Zamfara State of all forms of criminalities, groups of criminal gangs with different criminal offences have been apprehended by the men of the Corps and ready for prosecution.
He said three suspects were arrested from Kara village of Wanke District Gusau local Government Area for criminal conspiracy, tampering with electric wires and theft.
Oche also said that some group of syndicates belonging to a gang of thieves were also arrested while attempting to pilfer from innocent participants.
“These criminals took a paid bus from Zaria, Kaduna State to Zamfara State just to commit mischief at the Maulid Ground. They were arrested and brought to the Command for investigations,” he said while parading them.
Furthermore, the NSCDC spokesperson said four other suspects who specialize in pickpocketing and Stealing of Handsets were also apprehended by men of the Corps at the Maulud ceremony ground. He said some exhibits of stolen phones were found at their disposal.
“These criminal gangs are also from Zaria city who have come to Gusau to dispose innocent participants at the Maulid of their belongings.”
Also, five suspects were arrested at Tsafe Local Government Area Suspected to Belong to Gang of Thieves. They were arrested at Birnin Ruwa Area of Tsafe Local Government area on the 4th March 2022.
The State Civil Defence said that these suspects will be charged to court when investigations are concluded.
Oche however warned all miscreants that Zamfara is not a safe haven for criminals to hibernate, as such he asked all criminals to relocate from Zamfara State as the Corps is poised to Smoke them out of their hideouts.
