NSE: Investors further lost N91.85 Billion on Wednesday, after N122.4 Billion loss on Tuesday
Equity capitalization at the Nigeria Stock Exchange dipped further by Ninety-One Point Eight Five billion naira on Wednesday after a One Hundred and Twenty-Two Point Four-Billion-naira loss on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the equity capitalization fell to Twenty Point Seven Five Trillion Naira, From Twenty Point Eight-Nine, One Hundred and Twenty-Two Point Four-Billion-naira loss.
The fall in equity capitalization drove the All Share Index to close at Thirty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Point Zero Six points, a drop from Thirty- Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety-Seven Point Six Two points.
Investors transacted two hundred and Forty-Four Point Three Million Shares On Wednesday, valued at Four Point One Billion naira.
The bears dominated the floor as there were Thirty Losers and only Sixteen gainers.
Among the sixteen gainers at Wednesday’s trading SEPLAT PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY gained Ten percent on its share price to top other gainers. Its share price rose from Five Hundred and Thirty Naira to Five Hundred and Eighty-Three naira.
Other gainers were AIICO INSURANCE, CORNER STONE INSURANCE and UAC- PROPERTY DEVELOPMENTCOMPANY.
On the other hand, JAPAUL GOLD was the top loser. Its share price fell by Ten percent, a fall from Sixty Kobo to Fifty-Five kobo.
ZENITH BANK, UNTIED CAPITAL PLC and GUARANTY TRUST BANK were the investors delight, with each trading over Twenty-Three Million shares in over Three Hundred deals.
ZENNIT BANK equity was the top turnover equity trading over one-billion-naira worth of shares.
GUARANTY TRUST BANK stood behind ZENNIT BANK, trading Nine Hundred and Nineteen Point Eight Million worth of shares.
