As the month of February begins, investors lost twenty-eight point six billion naira at the close of business on Monday after five days’ consecutive gain last week

The equity capitalization fell from twenty-two point one -eight trillion naira to twenty-two point one -five trillion, a twenty-eight point six-billion-naira loss.

Consequently, the All Share Index closed at forty-two thousand three hundred and fifty-seven point nine points, a reduction from forty-two thousand, four hundred and twelve point six-six points traded on Friday.

The volume of stocks traded was five hundred and eighty-six point eight million, valued at six billion naira in seven thousand, four hundred and ninety-seven deals.

The activity chart showed thirty-five gainers against twenty-eight losers at the close of trading.

CHAMPION BREWERIES was the highest gainer while ROYALEX topped the losers side.

Shares in financial sector were the most traded.  ZENNITH BANK, GUARANTY TRUST BANK AND FIRST BANK HOLDING dominated the chart with about twenty-one million shares changing hands.
