NYSC DG Thanks Enugu state Govt For Increasing Corps Members State Allowance To N20,000
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu has commended the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah for approving the payment of 20,000 Naira allowance for the Corps members posted to the state.
Nafiu who made the commendation when he led some top officials of the scheme to the Government House, Enugu noted that the gesture would augment the 77,000 Naira paid to the corps members by the federal government.
The NYSC DG who described Enugu state as very conducive for corps members commended the governor for his support to the scheme especially the ongoing renovation work at the Awgu Orientation Camp built in 1973.
Governor Mbah described the NYSC as a veritable platform that brings young people from across cultures, faith and regions together to serve the country and assured of the support of the state government towards the welfare and Safety of the corps members.
He promised that work at the Awgu Orientation Camp will be completed and commissioned by the end of this year.
