NYSC TELLS CORPS MEMBERS TO RESPECT THE CULTURE AND TRADITION OF HOST COMMUNITIES

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged corps members to respect the cultural norms and traditions of the people where they may find themselves during the service year.

 The Director- General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed who gave the advice during a tour of NYSC orientation camp, Issele-uku in Delta State observed that there may be minor differences between the people’s ways of life and the ones they are used to.

The D-G also urged the corps members to always make themselves available to participate in all camp activities and to take all camp programmes very seriously.

He said there are about 12 skills which the corps members are sensitized to during the orientation camp exercise and encouraged them to pick a skill of their interest, so that they can develop on it and become independent.

Speaking on posting of corps members for primary assignments, he warned the corps members against indulging in “self-rejection urging them accept their postings in good faith and give in their best.
