Obi has what it takes to lead Nigeria – Wike
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike says the Labour Party (LP) presidential flag bearer Peter Obi has what it takes to lead Nigeria.
Wike made this statement on Thursday in Port Harcourt at the commissioning of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwu flyover in the Ikoku axis of the state capital.
He described the LP candidate as a humble man and pledged his support in campaign within the state especially in the provision of logistics support.
Governor Wike also asked Obi to tell Labour Party candidate in Rivers state not contest against candidate of the ruling PDP within the state emphasizing that PDP led administration had done well for the state.
The Rivers state governor encouraged Nigerians to put aside ethnicity and religion when casting their ballot in the upcoming elections as the aim should be to achieve equity, fairness and justice for Nigeria.
Peter Obi, thanked the Governor for the opportunity to commission a project within Rivers state emphasising that nobody in Nigeria can doubt the performance of the Wike led administration on infrastructure development within the state.
Obi while responding to Wike’s request to prevail on Labour Party candidates to drop their contest against the PDP said as long as Wike will also leave the presidency for him, Labour party would leave Rivers for PDP.
Obi assured Nigerians of his commitment to lead Nigeria efficiently if given the opportunity and also encouraged Nigerians to vote for him not based on his ethnicity or religion but on his capacity and competence to lead.
The flyover which is the 9th being constructed and commissioned by the Governor Wike- led administration in Rivers State is part of the ongoing infrastructure development to encourage a business friendly environment in Rivers State.
