Obi wishes Super Eagles victory against Cameroon
The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi, has encouraged the Super Eagles to put in more effort against Cameroon in today’s Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash.
He wrote: “As they go into the knock-out stage today, I encourage them to double their efforts while wishing them victory.”
“Our football players carry the banner of our youth as ambassadors of our nation. I share and will always support their hope and the promise of the great nation we deserve and are working towards. It is possible.”
Despite current challenges, Obi insisted “we remain a nation of winners.”
In an attempt to move on to the AFCON quarterfinals, the Super Eagles take on their neighbors, Cameroon, this Saturday, at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.
Obi backed the Nigerian team to succeed against the odds with maximum effort.
“I support their hope and the promise of the great nation we deserve,” he added, urging the Eagles to make the country proud.
The winner of the West African clash will advance to the quarterfinals to play against the winner of Angola vs Namibia.
