OKPEBHOLO SEALS PROPERTIES OF SUSPECTED CULT LEADERS
The Edo Governor, Monday Okpebholo has sealed some buildings belonging to suspected cult leaders in the State.
The buildings were sealed during a coordinated operation, codenamed “Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers” led by the Squad’s coordinator, Idemudia Noah, in collaboration with security agencies.
The team acting on intelligence stormed the Egbaen community in Egor Local Government Area where they sealed a building where they found a white casket and fetish items believed to have been used for initiation rituals.
At Evboyare community, Uhunmwode Local Government Area, where a bloody cult clash recently occurred and one Festus was killed, the security team sealed the residence of an alleged Maphite leader, Felix Aigbedion.
Speaking after the operation, the leader, Idemudia Noah, said that many families of Evboyare fled their houses during the fracas and that two locally made firearms were recovered from a poultry house in the community.
He said the state government is unwavering in its determination to purge Edo State of cult-related violence and criminal syndicates.
