Osun Police begins investigation into alleged sexual molestation of detainees by personnel
The Osun State Police Command has commenced investigations into the alleged sexual exploitation and harassment of two female suspects by policemen while in detention.
Yemisi Opalola, the Command Police Public Relations Officer stated in an interview that the Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode had ordered an investigation into the alleged abuse of the female suspects immediately he read the reports.
Opalola revealed that the Commissioner who was furious at the allegations, assured that he will deal with any police personnel who has at any time or the other taken advantage of suspects involved in any case.
Ogunmba who was arrested for alleged kidnapping had revealed that while she was in police detention, she was sexually exploited twice by an officer named Taofeek while Mrs. Olawoyin, an armed robbery suspect also revealed that an officer named Dare sexually harassed her and demanded for sex as a condition to help her out of the case.
