Pentecostal Bishops from Northern Nigeria condemn the killings in Southern Kaduna
Pentecostal Bishops’ Forum of the 19 Northern states have Condemned the continued killings in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, the Chairman, Pentecostal Bishops’ Forum, Arch Bishop JohnPraise Daniel, stated that the situation had assumed a dangerous dimension of ethnic cleansing.
He condemned the unabating slaughter of innocent people by those he called “Bloodthirsty Armed Militia Bandits and terrorist” who go on attacking defenceless People of Southern Kaduna and Nigerians in other parts of the country.
“The naked savagery and act of genocide in Southern Kaduna have assumed a dangerous dimension of ethnic cleansing and we demand that the killings stop and deterrent measures put in place”.
He pointed out that the “audacity of the attackers and the inactions of the relevant security formations to bring the perpetrators to justice as suggestive of a wicked collaboration, double standards, and sabotage, giving the impression of a sinister script acted out to overrun the people and forcefully annex their ancestral heritage in all ramifications”
The forum Suggested that decisive actions be taken especially by those whose duty it is under the constitution to protect the defenseless citizens.
The clergymen did not exonerate the government from the continued massacre of the citizens of Southern Kaduna stating;
“It is apposite to state that this Press Conference is not to blame the government outrightly, having noted its repeated claims of working tirelessly to arrest the ugly development, it is lamentable that no arrests and prosecution have been recorded to date”
Nineteen Pentecostal Bishops from the 19 Northern States were at the briefing.
