Police Bust Four-Man Armed Robbery Syndicate In Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in bursting a four-man syndicate of suspected armed robbers terrorizing the State.

The suspects namely; Basiru Ayuba, M, aged 22 years, Muhammed Musa, ‘M’, aged 45 years, all of Babban Mutum in Baure LGA of the State alongside Abubakar Abdullahi, ‘M’, 20 years, and Musa Rabi’u, ‘M’, aged 20 years, were arrested in connection with a suspected case of armed robbery on October 1st, 2024.

The Police Spokesman ASP Abubakar Sadiq in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the suspects had on 6th September 2024, at about 0300hrs, criminally conspired and trespassed into the house of one Rabi’u Umar, ‘M’ of Babban Mutum, Baure LGA, a POS vendor, where they robbed him of the following items: N2,070m cash neatly concealed in a black bag, Tecno Camon 20, as well as 15 dinars of Libyan currency.

“During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspects, Basiru Ayuba and Abdullahi Abubakar, met at the Correctional Service Facility, and upon release, they sought the help of Muhammad Musa to secure a rendezvous and plan their heinous act.

“After the plan was laid out, they engaged the service of Musa Rabi’u in order to execute the final phase of their plan.

“Upon arrest, a Tecno Camon 20, 15 dinars of Libyan currency, and a black bag were recovered from their possession as exhibits.

“The investigation is still ongoing, and suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation”, the statement added.
