Population Commission Organises Capacity Building Workshop For Enugu Publicity Committee
The Enugu office of the national population Commission has organized a capacity-building workshop for its publicity committee in preparation for next month’s headcount.
Federal commissioner Ejike Eze the committee members of the continuous support of the commission to enable them to deliver on next month’s census.
Ejike expressed appreciation of the commission for the support and the leadership of the Enugu state government towards conducting a successful census.
He also appreciated the commitment of the committee to making sure that the commission achieves a successful conduct of 2023 population and housing census.
He then assured the people of Enugu state that the national population commission was irrevocably committed to positively conducting the 2023 census in Nigeria and to delivering a remarkable census.
One of the resource persons Dr. K. C. Okeke who presented the methodology and processes of the 2023 population and housing census said that the commission has introduced a digital census which is different from what was obtained in 2006.
He said that the 2023 population and housing census will be Nigeria’s first digital census in planning and execution which implies a change in how the data on population and housing information will be captured.
Addressing Journalists, after the workshop, federal commissioner Ejike Eze said that the workshop was for the members of the publicity and enlightenment committee to equip them with the skill that will be needed in the field.
The workshop which was held at Bridge Water’s hotel in Enugu was attended by the members of the publicity committee of the national population commission including the federal commissioner. Ejike Eze, the state director, Enugu Ngozi, Ethel Onyia, member representing Oji River in Enugu state House of Assembly Hon. Jeff Mba, and other members of the committee.
