President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, 26th of March 2020 commissioned the Port-Harcourt Road and Port-Harcourt/Federal Secretariat Road in Owerri the Imo State Capital.
The President during the virtual commissioning expressed his satisfaction over the roads. He commended Gov. Hope Uzodimma for taking it upon himself to bring an end to bad roads in the state, describing him as a sincere leader who has come to work for his people despite the prevailing economic situation predicated by the fall in the price of oil which has brought about a cut in the state’s allocations. President Buhari added that Gov. Uzodimma is one of the few governors taking up infrastructural development so seriously.
The President promised to partner with the state government in carrying out other developmental projects as well as other empowerment programs that will benefit the people of Imo state. He said, “We will continue to partner with the state government in driving home development and empowerment programs that will benefit the state”.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma in his speech thanked the President for honouring ‘Ndi’ Imo through the commissioning of the PH road and PH/Federal Secretariat and promised to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
He also called for more support and partnership from the Federal government in developmental projects as well as empowerment while assuring President Buhari of the support and loyalty of Ndi Imo to his administration.
