PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PETITIONS COURT: TRIBUNAL COMMENCES PRESENTATION OF FINAL JUDGEMENT
The Presidential Elections petitions court has struck out the petition filed by the Allied People’s Movement over allegations of double nomination by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

In the lead judgment, the court said the Petition was an abuse of court processes and a pre-election matter which the petitioner ought to have verified from the Federal High Court fourteen days after the primary election was held.
According to the Petitions court, the case was supposed to be instituted by a member of the All Progressives Congress who took part in the election and not candidates outside the party.
The court further stated that the petitioner added fresh issues and facts during the course of the hearing, which was not in the earlier motion filed
Nigeria’s Vice President, the National Security Adviser, the governor of Imo and Kogi states including the national chairmen of the PDP and Labour parties are all present in court
The court has gone for a 15-minute break, after which judgment will be delivered for PDP and LP’s petitions.
