RANGERS MAKE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY INTO ENUGU

The victorious Rangers International Football Club of Enugu and their fans trooped out at Okpara Square, Enugu, Monday evening, to celebrate the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The team which brought home the giant trophy and prize money of one hundred and fifty million naira arrived Enugu in grand style, Monday evening , after beating Gombe United 2:1 in Jos where they were officially crowned champions.

The Flying Antelopes who were led by team manager, Fidelis Ilechukwu and their captain, Chukwudi Nwaodu were treated to a heroic welcome.

Also on ground at the Michael Okpara Square venue of the celebration were the General Manager of the team, Amobi Ezeaku, state Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Lloyd Ekweremadu and his Information and Communications counterpart, Aka Eze Aka and a retinue of ex-Rangers players and veterans including legendary goalkeeper, Emmanuel Okala.

The General Manager of the club, Amobi Ezeaku thanked the fans for all the support given to the players and the entire team, as well as the state, Peter Mbah who made a whole difference by believing in the team.

He thanked the governor for investing all the resources needed to put the team in good spirit and shape to do the exploits to achieve the victory for Enugu people and the entire Igbo race and true lovers of football.

Amobi said because the trophy, the doors of Rangers office would be open for the next one month to enable their fans and supporters to have a feel of the trophy and take pictures with it.

While appreciating the fans and the governor for their unflinching support, the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Lloyd Ekweremadu, assured fans that Rangers would be going into continental competitions more fortified, describing the club as a national pride and brand.

Speaking to journalists, club legend, Emma Okala assured that the former players would stand by the team to see them to victory.

He observed that putting the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in order to enable them to play their home matches at The Cathedral instead of Awka was a major milestone for the club and fans.

A top fan of the club, Emmanuel Okoh, vowed to continue to give his all to ensure that Rangers excel in the coming season and continental competitions and made a cash presentation to Rangers legend, Emma Okala and some fans.
