Recent COVID-19 positive cases in Enugu not indigenes

The Enugu State government has said that the four new confirmed COVID-19 cases are not from the state.

A statement by the state commissioner for health, Dr Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu, said the cases are indigenes of Bauchi State who live in Enugu, the state capital.

“These new cases are two adults and two children, who live in Enugu and hail from Bauchi State and travelled to Jos Plateau State, with the case that was reported as the 3rd positive case in Enugu,” according to the statement.

This the Enugu State Commissioner for Health said brings the status of positive cases so far reported in Enugu to 8 with 6 active cases.

Dr Ikechukwu appealed to the citizens and those resident in the state to continue to observe the safety measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
