RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT TO WORK WITH FG HOUSING FOR RIVERS PEOPLE
The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has given the assurance that the State Government would work harmoniously with the Federal Government to address the issue of housing affecting low and middle income earners in the State.
Such collaboration he said will reduce the pressure faced by citizens in securing affordable accommodation in the state.
Governor Fubara made the assertion when he received the management team of the Federal Housing Authority of Nigeria led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Oyetunde Ojo, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Port Harcourt
The Governor who noted that the problem of housing has become a major issue confronting Nigerians, said the Rivers State Government recently flagged off a 20,000-unit housing project to address the housing needs of citizens.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu for placing emphasis on the basic needs of an average family which include food, clothing and shelter which have been worsened by the increasing cost of living.
Governor Fubara expressed delight with the purpose of the visit, which he said, keys into the social housing policy of his Administration, emphasizing that FHA’s commitment to partner the State Government in providing housing will add in mitigating the plight of the citizens.
