Saudi Arabia appoints new Grand Mufti

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appointed Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid as the new Grand Mufti of the Kingdom and Head of the Senior Council of Scholars.

Humaid was appointed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

He will succeed Sheikh Abdulaziz, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 82.

Humaid is currently one of the nine Imams of Grand Mosque of Mecca.
