A security analyst, Retired Colonel Ademola said that the Nigerian army lacks inter-agency collaboration and the Chief of Army Staff must work to have the full support of all other security agencies beginning with sister agencies. He advised him to work with the police as they have a lot to provide in internal security.
Ademola stressed on the need to improve the welfare of troops, according to him, it increases the morale of soldiers. He emphasized more on rotating soldiers in theatres of operation and allowing fresh blood to be injected.

The retired Colonel also advised the Chief of Army Staff to reduce the number of soldiers in the theatres of operation and replace them with technology, describing that intelligence is key to operational success Another security analyst, Senator Iroegbu narrated that insurgency still persists because the Nigerian army is dealing with unconventional conflicts in which the perpetrators are embedded in the society Iroegbu disclosed that most soldiers in theatres of operation are being exhausted and because of that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder sets in.
