Sokoto Governor Aliyu Receives 51 Abductees Rescued By Army

The Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has directed that 51 abductees rescued from three local government areas (LGAs) by personnel of the Nigerian Army be subjected to medical examination and treatment before reuniting them with their families.

The governor stated this shortly after the Army officials handed over the victims to the state government, following operations in Tangaza, Gwadabawa and Ilella where most of the victims were rescued.

He also made cash donations of N100,000 each to the victims along with bags of assorted grains in the lead-up to their reunion with their families.

Governor Aliyu commended the efforts of the Nigerian Army, while reaffirming the commitment of his administration to continue to support the operation of security agencies in the state.
